Southgate is a long-standing supporter of our community’s charities and non-profit organizations for the past 45 years in Edmonton. Southgate and its retailers are pleased to support non-profit organizations such as The Stollery Children's Hospital, Suit Yourself, The Bissell Centre, The Cancer Society, The Edmonton Food Bank, The Christmas Bureau, and many more worthy charities that benefit the community and assist those in need. We are committed to supporting these groups and others, by way of fundraising campaign partnerships, gift card or prize donations, advertising, and a designated rental location in the Centre at a nominal fee. Last year, Southgate provided space to more than 35 non-profit and charitable groups for fundraising, who collectively raised more than $100,000! This is just one of the ways Southgate reaches out and get's involved with the community. Thank you to all of our customers for supporting the local charities in the Centre!
Who is eligible to use the non-profit designated rental locations?
- To be considered eligible for these spaces, the charity or non-profit group must have a registered Non-Profit number and must be raising funds solely for the organization.
How many times can a non-profit or charity use the designated rental locations?
- Each organization can apply to be in Southgate for one week, twice per year. This parameter was established to give as many different organizations as possible the opportunity to use Southgate as a venue. Due to the busy retail Holiday Season, the Centre does not host any non-profit or charitable organizations during the months of November and December. Please Note: A $50 fee is charged each time you book space in the Centre for rental of a display table/cabinet. Professional signage featuring your organizations logo will be provided.
Should an agreement be reached, the organization must be able to produce an Insurance Certificate for Liability Coverage in the amount of two million dollars. As well, noted in Clause (10) of the contract, Ivanhoe Cambridge Inc., Ivanhoe Cambridge I Inc., Ivanhoe Cambridge II Inc., and OPB (Southgate) Inc. must be indicated as additional insured. If sales/donations are to be collected, they must be reported on the sales schedule provided. There are strict and specific rules governing such things as performances. Regarding raffles, the organization is responsible for obtaining or providing a registered lottery license number.
