FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How does the Program work?

You will need to register with our Southgate Stylist by emailing southgatestylist@gmail.com (or visiting the Customer Service Centre or calling (780) 435-3721). Once your information form has been assessed, an appointment is booked. You will meet your stylist at the Customer Service Concierge Desk, located in the Food Court. Our stylist will then take you into some of the stores that she thinks will be most appropriate for you. Our stylist will:

1. Introduce you to new merchandise based on your needs
2. Have you try on various garments that she thinks will be most suitable for you
3. Show you how to coordinate items together
4. Answer your fashion questions

2. Am I obligated to buy something?

Our Southgate Stylist is not on commission and there is no obligation to buy. She has no affiliation to any particular store. She is employed by Southgate Centre. At Southgate, we believe that some people are overwhelmed and frustrated with the whole shopping experience. It is our desire to ease that frustration and make shopping fun again! We believe that an informed, educated, inspired customer is a happy and confident customer.

3. Can I book an appointment for someone else?

In order for clients to have a proper assessment, we recommend they personally complete the Style Form and book their own appointment.

4. I’d like to bring a friend to the appointment with me, is that OK?

In order for the Southgate Stylist to serve your specific needs and for you to maximize her expertise in a limited amount of time, it is advised that you come to the appointment alone.

5. Is someone going to tell me all about fashion?

Yes, but this is not a fashion seminar. This program is a wardrobe planning service designed to help make your wardrobe work for you. Our objective is to help save you time and money by avoiding costly mistakes. You will be introduced to the most appropriate clothes for the current fashion season, and learn how to integrate them into your current wardrobe.

6. Do you have appointments for men?

Yes, we help men with wardrobing as well.

7. What should I wear to the appointment?

Wear the appropriate undergarments for what you will be trying on. Dress comfortably with comfortable shoes, bring water, and travel light because you will be doing a lot of walking throughout the Centre.

8. Is there anything I can do to prepare for this appointment?

Yes, edit your closet. Begin by organizing all like items together i.e.) all jackets hanging together, all pants, all skirts, all blouses, etc. Eliminate all items you have not worn in the last two years, that are worn or tired looking or that no longer fit. We recommend donating them to “Suit Yourself.” From what is left, take an inventory of what you would like to work with and what you think you may need.

9. Do I need to bring anything?

It is helpful to start a “fashion file.” Begin by clipping pictures from current fashion magazines, of looks you would like to achieve at the price points that you can afford. Add to this file an inventory of items in your wardrobe that really work for you. The more information you provide your consultant, the more effectively she can help you.

10. Will the consultant help me find shoes and accessories?

Yes, if time permits.
